SAM is proud to announce that Dr. Grant Baldwin, the Director of the Division of
Overdose Prevention (DOP) at the CDC's National Center for Injury Prevention and
Control will be speaking at the 7th Annual SAM Summit in Nashville, TN.
In his role at the CDC, Dr. Baldwin is responsible for monitoring trends in the
opioid overdose epidemic and other emerging drug threats as well identifying and
scaling up prevention activities to address the evolving drug crisis.
Dr. Baldwin received his PhD in Health Behavior and Health Education at the University
of Michigan. He received an MPH in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education from
Emory University, and is currently an affiliated professor at Emory University.
This year's summit will once again be taking place in conjunction with the Rx Drug
Abuse & Heroin Summit in Nashville, TN on April 16, 2020 and will also feature:
Dr. Elinore McCance-Katz of SAMHSA;
Dr. Kevin Sabet of SAM;
US Attorney for the Eastern District of California McGregor "Greg" Scott;
Rocky Mountain HIDTA Director Tom Gorman; and
"The Tall Cop" Officer Jermaine Galloway
