Letter from the Mayor

Dear Washingtonians,

Monday is officially the start of spring, but this weekend we get a spring preview with the start of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Due to an earlier than?usual predicted peak bloom, the festival is starting earlier than originally planned and will run from March 18 to April 16.

Cherry Blossoms

Through April 16, the National Cherry Blossom Festival will host a wide range of events [ [link removed] ], near the Tidal Basin and in neighborhoods across DC. Our Department of Parks and Recreation is also joining the fun with events like the PinkNic at Oxon Run [ [link removed] ] on Sunday, April 2.?

Spring also means that the Department of Public Works has spring cleaning operations in full swing. Learn more about how to request services like alley cleaning and graffiti removal HERE [ [link removed] ].?

Have a safe, fun weekend, enjoy the cherry blossoms, and happy spring, DC.?

Sincerely,?

Muriel Bowser
