Dear NCR friends,
I write as a member of the broad-minded, big-hearted family of believers that is
the NCR community.
If, like me, you are gravely concerned about the lack of Gospel values and accountability--whether
in the Catholic Church or in the U.S. government--this is the community for you.
Please join us as a member [[link removed]]
during our Winter Member Drive and become part of this uncommonly gifted family
of faith.
I love viewing a world-wide church through the grassroots lens provided by Global
Sisters Report [[link removed]],
and Peter Feuerherd's church reporting [[link removed]]
brings needed perspective to parish life in the US and Canada.
In a climate changing world wracked by unprecedented wildfires, earthquakes, drought,
and floods, EarthBeat [[link removed]]
provides inspiring stories from Catholic activists, as well as interactive tools
to help heal our planet.

Heidi Schlumpf's investigative report [[link removed]]
about a right-wing Catholic group's use of 'Geofencing' to track Catholic cellphone
data in order to influence the upcoming election is both timely and scary.
Michael Sean Winters' thought-provoking blog about all things political in our church
and in our country brings Gospel perspective to realities that challenge and trouble
us. And where would we be without Josh McElwee's breaking news from the Vatican,
including in-depth coverage of all things Pope Francis.
None of this independent Catholic journalism can happen without the support of people
like you. Please join us as a member [[link removed]].
Facing up to gun violence, clergy sex abuse, the refugee/immigration crisis, sexism
and homophobia requires both facts and wise reflection. NCR's wide-ranging reporting
and access to Catholic wisdom from the likes of Joan Chittister, Tom Gumbleton,
Amy Morris-Young, Daniel Horan, Jamie Manson, Tom Reese, Phyllis Zagano, and an
array of gifted younger voices, helps us know what the Gospel asks of us.

I was a fan of NCR long before I became a regular columnist writing Simply Spirit
[[link removed]].
I'm a fan because NCR helps me shape my own views about the troubling political
and religious issues of our day. It is a big source of hope in these increasingly
dangerous and troubling times.
Our goal is to attract 250 new members during our Winter Member Drive. Won't you
join us [[link removed]]?

Thanks so much!
