Boozhoo John, These last two weeks have warmed my heart seeing our communities come together to have important conversations about our collective voting power. We worked alongside the Ho-Chunk Nation, the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, and the Native American Rights Fund (NARF) to host dinners in Milwaukee and Bayfield.
We discussed the impacts the Wisconsin Supreme Court has on Indian Country and heard from speakers including Chairman Christopher Boyd of Red Cliff, Allison Neswood of NARF, and Dr. Rick St. Germaine of the Lac Courte Oreilles tribe. Attendees shared a meal together, asked questions, joined in conversation, and vowed to turn out to vote on Tuesday, April 4.
We also named Mardella Gustafson (Ojibwe, Lac du Flambeau) our super volunteer of the year for her personal commitment and daily efforts to get out the vote! |

The success of these events and our work would not be possible without the support of tribal leadership and members. The continuous backing for Wisconsin Native Vote from Chairman Boyd and Casey Brown, Public Relations Officer for Ho-Chunk Nation, means everything to us. Additionally the staff at Legendary Waters Casino and the Ho-Chunk Nation Tribal Office in Milwaukee went above and beyond. It’s the persistent word-of-mouth in our tribal communities that can make any event a rousing success.
Chii Miigwech to all who came out to join us for a great time! |

We continue to celebrate the dedication to voter turnout by the tribal nations across the state. Because of this, we have seen tremendous increases in voter turnout. We know that together, we have power.
So together, we will vote on Tuesday, April 4 for our ancestors, our veterans, our future generations, and for our people. |
