The annual Basque Fry was started in 2015 by then-Nevada Attorney General Adam Paul Laxalt as a celebration of both conservative principles and the state’s rich Basque heritage. Perhaps the most famous descendant of Basque sheepherders in Nevada history was also among our most respected political figures: Adam’s grandfather, former Governor and U.S. Senator Paul Laxalt, who regularly hosted Basque lamb fry events throughout Nevada and in Washington, D.C.
