Living History in Goliad

Presidio La Bah?a State Historic Site [ [link removed] ], one of the THC?s newest properties, was a Spanish colonial fort crucial to the development of Texas. On March 25-26, the site will host the 37th Annual Goliad Massacre Living History Program.

Saturday?s program includes a skirmish and reenactors going about their daily lives much as would have been done in 1836. On Sunday, events begin with a presentation from a first-person perspective of one of the survivors of the infamous Goliad Massacre, followed by a reenactment near one of the reported original massacre sites. The day closes with a memorial for the fallen.

Admission is $5 per person (children 6 years old and under are free) per day for the reenactment. Learn more:

We?re looking for not only museums and cities in the Texas Main Street Program, but also tourism organizations, libraries, and other organizations that are interested in developing heritage tourism in their towns.
