Hi there,
Spring is on its way! How nice have those 7pm sunsets been? We hope that between soaking up sunshine and visiting your favorite flowering plants, you'll make some time to check out these upcoming events and ways to get involved.
Upcoming Events
Ward 1.5 monthly meet-up [[link removed]]
Sunday, March 19, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Civic engagement can be both rewarding and frustrating, but it should never be lonely. If you’re looking to connect with other folks—especially in Wards 1 and 2—who think neighbors are nicer than neighborhood character and that cities should be for people, not for cars, come out on March 19 at 3 pm for this month’s meet-up at Grand Duchess in Adams Morgan.
Women+ in Planning Happy Hour [[link removed]]
Wednesday, March 22, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
From serving as neighborhood commissioners and planning our bus systems to advocating for more housing and better land use, there are so many ways that women, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people help make the Washington region more safe, affordable, and accessible. This Women's History Month, GGWash is celebrating those contributions with a happy hour on Wednesday, March 22, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Binge Bar, DC's newest women-owned, alcohol-free gathering space on H St NE.
Celebrate 15 years of GGWash! [[link removed]]
Thursday, April 27, 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Since 2008, Greater Greater Washington has worked to create a Washington region where housing is abundant and affordable, it's safe and easy to get around without a car, and land use decisions prioritize racial, social, and environmental justice. With 15 years of progress to celebrate and big dreams for the future, we invite you to join us at our Spring Soirée on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Hook Hall!

It is currently illegal to build duplexes, townhomes, and apartments in most of Arlington County. However, the Arlington County Board could vote to end exclusionary zoning. Read this post by Dan Reed and sign up to testify in support at the public hearing on Saturday, March 18.
Submit feedback on TranspoBINGO [[link removed]]
After playing this year's TranspoBINGO, we invite you to consider and respond to the following questions. The GGWash staff will try and collate responses to post later this month in a TranspoBINGO reflections post, but it's also a great way to give us your feedback on the challenge.

In July 2022, GGWash commissioned Nelson\Nygaard to analyze StreetLight Insight data to better understand travel patterns as the District emerged from Covid lockdowns. Our original research compares trips taken by car, bike, on foot, and by Metrorail and Metrobus in March 2019 versus March 2022, at the District and ward levels.
