I emailed you earlier this week about the importance of my $10,000 mid-March goal. Right now, we’re still short.

Team, in the two months since we launched our campaign, 2,029 generous donors have stepped up to power our work. I’m truly humbled by the enthusiasm we’ve seen in North Carolina and beyond. Together, we’re building a campaign from the grassroots up — one ready to take on anything the GOP can throw at us.

But we know that there’s a long, hard road ahead. Statewide races in North Carolina always come down to just a few votes. Trust me, I’ve been here before.

So I know if we’re going to win, we need resources now.

The earlier money comes in, the more effectively we can put it to use. We’re already making critical campaign decisions that will have a lasting impact in the coming months.

Here are some of the decisions we’re working on: how many more staff members we’ll need on our team, when to hire them, how much more to invest in digital outreach at this stage because early relationships with supporters and voters are critical, and how many and where to plan upcoming campaign events.

We can only make these decisions when we have a clear picture of our financial status. And if we fail to reach our mid-March goal, we may have to kick some early investments down the line a bit.

I know we can close the gap. This team has already proven to me that you will step up when our campaign needs you most.
