According to Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight, pollsters may be overstating Trump’s popularity at 42% job approval because they aren’t factoring increased polarization into their questions. When they do, his relative approval rating drops even further. Some polling is even placing him as low as 37%.
Yet they also found that despite Trump’s low nationwide popularity, Republican voters are unmoved and rank him second only to Reagan in terms of favorability.
