John, Walgreens, the second-largest pharmacy chain in this country, has made the dangerous decision to stop selling mifepristone — a pill that doctors prescribe for abortions and treating miscarriages — in 21 states where Republican attorneys general have threatened legal action. This safe, reliable, FDA-approved medication will no longer be available in any Walgreens stores in nearly half the country.

Walgreens' decision makes it harder for millions of Americans to access the legal, safe medications they need. And it marks a dangerous step toward limiting our reproductive freedoms nationwide.

You see, Walgreens didn't make this decision based on concerns from doctors or guidance from the FDA. Instead, they chose to listen to the extremist politicians who are trying to ban abortions and destroy reproductive rights across the whole country. This isn't about medicine or science or patients' health. It's about politics and an extremist agenda, plain and simple.

The people in charge at Walgreens have caved to the pressure from leaders on the far right. Now, it's time to mount a pressure campaign of our own. I'm calling on 15,000 grassroots Democrats to stand with me in this fight by raising your voices to restore reproductive freedoms. Please, will you add your name before midnight tonight to show the GOP that we won't let them win this fight?

Thank you for standing with me in this fight.

With gratitude and hope for the future,

Kirsten
