This Women’s History Month, women in Texas and across the country have fewer rights than they did when we marked this month last year.

Friends,

This Women’s History Month, women in Texas and across the country have fewer rights than they did when we marked this month last year. As we reflect on the many contributions of American women, I encourage you to join me in recommitting ourselves to actually honoring and supporting women around the world and here at home. With unimaginable stories about Texas women being forced to go into sepsis before being able to receive the care they need, it is very clear we have a lot of work to do here in our own backyard.

While there is much more work to be done, it’s also critical that we take time this month to recognize the progress we have made and celebrate the accomplishments of so many women who refused to give up. Texas is the home of so many trailblazing women from Congresswoman Barbara Jordan to Governor Ann Richards, and countless other everyday superheroes who have made our state and nation a better place.

Women are leading America toward a better future every day. I’m honored to work alongside so many history-making women to make North Texas and the United States a place where everyone, no matter who you are, has the chance to chase their version of the American dream.

Thank you for all you do, and happy Women’s History Month!
