Friend—

We’re reaching out with an urgent ask: can you take 5 minutes TODAY to call your reps in the NY state legislature and share your support for the Raise the Wage Act?

Get connected to your rep:

Raise Up NY ASSEMBLY: 866-516-7869

Raise Up NY SENATE: 866-716-7869

Our legislators are wrapping up the budget process this weekend, and it is essential that they hear from YOU, their constituents, that we must raise the minimum wage to no less than $21.25 by 2027.

Here’s a sample script:

“Hello, I’m a resident of ______, New York and I’m calling in support of the Raise the Wage Act sponsored by Senator Jessica Ramos and Assemblymember Latoya Joyner. It is absolutely essential that the legislature include a $21.25 minimum wage in the budget this year. We are in a historic cost-of-living crisis, and New Yorkers are struggling to make ends meet. A $21.25 minimum wage would ensure that working New Yorkers can make rent, put food on the table, and have extra money leftover to spend at small businesses and boost our state’s economy. [Add extra context about where you live and why this is important to your community]. I urge you to support a $21.25 minimum wage in our state budget—it is a moral imperative for New York’s future.”

This legislation would mean $3,300/year or $63/week for 3 million New Yorkers. Please join Raise Up NY and tell your reps that the time is NOW to raise the minimum wage to $21.25!

In solidarity,

Tal Frieden,

Raise Up NY Campaign Coordinator
