We wanted to bump this email for you, because we believe this is an important story outlining the harmful results of an extremist-led legislature. We need further federal legislation to protect and expand voting rights in Texas and across the country.
Extreme Republicans in the state legislature are trying to ban polling locations on college campuses under the guise of keeping “strangers” off of campuses. But we all know it’s really about stopping young folks from taking part in the democratic process.
This legislation would be a flagrant violation of the spirit of our democracy and our electoral process. And it’s something Colin won’t stand for.
Will you stand with him and chip in to his campaign right away so that he can continue to fight to protect voting rights in Washington? [[link removed]]
Thank you for anything you can contribute.

[link removed] [[link removed]]John,
A Republican state representative recently filed a bill that would ban Texas counties from placing polling places on college campuses. They tried to justify the bill by claiming it would protect students.
These extreme Republicans claim that polling places on campuses invite people from outside the college to the campus to vote and therefore create a security problem. But know the real reason they want to ban polling locations on campuses: they want to make it harder for young people to vote.
Texas is already the state where it is hardest to vote in the nation, and Republicans have made it especially hard for young folks by not accepting student IDs as part of our photo voter ID requirements. Now, they are almost running out of ways to make it harder for certain folks to vote and are pursuing outlandish efforts like this.
Colin was a voting rights attorney before being elected to Congress and he’ll never stop fighting to pass legislation that makes it easier for all eligible Americans to cast their vote.
Will you rush a donation to Colin’s campaign today to help him protect his seat and continue his fight to protect our democracy? [[link removed]]

Colin has fought to protect voting rights and our democracy throughout his time in Congress. But the reality is that we will need to flip the House to have a better chance of continuing to build on Colin’s work and pass much needed voting rights legislation.
Chip in any amount that you can and let’s flip the House blue and protect voting rights together. [[link removed]]
All the best,
