John,

As a life-long educator and former middle school principal in the Bronx, I know how important the education of our children is for the health and thriving of our democracy.

That’s why Senator Cory Booker and I reintroduced the African American History Act. This bill will give educators more resources to tell the stories of Black Americans and increase funding for the National Museum of African American History — standing up to craven politicians who are trying to erase the truth of our country’s history.

Will you add your name as a citizen cosponsor of the African American History Act, so that Senator Booker’s and my important legislation can gain the momentum it needs in the House and the Senate?

ADD YOUR NAME

Our students deserve nothing less than a full education rooted in tolerance, love, and justice. Investing and supporting African American History programs will help us fight back against ignorance, and further our work toward a true multiracial democracy.

The truth should always be available to all and inspire us to move toward the future with a full understanding of where we’ve been as a nation. So I hope you will support our important bill.

If you’re with Senator Booker and me in our mission to create a more robust multiracial democracy by making sure everyone has the chance to learn our full history, please add your name as a citizen cosponsor of the African American History Act.

Thank you for standing with us.

Peace and love,

Jamaal Bowman
