Happy International Women's Day, John!

I’d like to take a moment today to honor the other 149 women I serve beside in the 118th Congress. We are social workers, doctors, teachers, ordained ministers, lawyers, and flight attendants. We are leaders, trailblazers, and role models for young girls everywhere.



We are strong.

We are powerful.

But we only have 28% of the seats at the table in Congress. And that badly needs to change.

John, as a mother on a mission, I’m working to elect more women up and down the ballot – to Congress, to our state legislatures, and to statewide seats – but I need your help. On International Women’s Day, will you pitch in $2.80, $28.00, or $280 to show that you’re with me in the fight to elect more women? [[link removed]]

When it comes to big-picture issues like entrepreneurship, higher education, and the fight for civil rights – women are leading the way in today’s world, and we have been for decades.

And when it comes to issues like reproductive rights, the gender pay gap, and gender discrimination – we need more women making decisions at every level of politics to make sure men aren’t legislating our bodily autonomy, our earning potential, or our rights.

28% of seats at the table is bad enough. But here’s what’s worse: No Black women are currently serving in the U.S. Senate (or as a Governor in any of our 50 states).
