John,
Happy International Women's Day!
On a day like today, we reflect on the progress of women in our country and abroad. We can definitely say that we've made great strides here in Delaware.
Since securing the Treasurer's office, we've helped reduce a $225 million shortfall into a $1.12 billion surplus, and continue to pave the way for more women in our state to lead.
Our work is never truly finished—just look at what we had to deal with during our most recent election.
My opponent resorted to using tired, sexist stereotypes to demean my work as State Treasurer in an attempt to score political points. He attacked my real-world professional experience as a healthcare professional helping my community during the height of the pandemic as useless to my position.
But with your grassroots support, we were able to overcome those obstacles. It's going to take the same type of unity to accomplish our next goals.
Delaware has already got the ball rolling in expanding paid sick and family leave through The Healthy Delaware Families Act.
Programs such as these, which expand the support available to working-class women, make it easier for ALL to contribute to our ever-growing economy. Moving forward, we're going to continue implementing the policies that lower the burdens on our working families.
John, we're working to deliver the standard of excellence and care beyond International Women's Day and Women's History Month. That means ensuring we're represented in the decision-making rooms. Can you help me play a role in advancing the power of Delaware women with your grassroots contribution today? [[link removed]]
