John,

Nearly three years ago, President Trump signed an executive order banning
refugees from Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Iran, Syria and Yemen from finding
safe haven in the United States. From protests to the courtroom, HIAS fought back:

Since Day One, HIAS has fought the refugee ban.
Jan. 27, 2017: HIAS joins tens of thousands who flock to airports across the U.S. with one simple message: Refugees are welcome here.
February to March, 2017: HIAS sues the Trump administration, blocking the refugee ban.
2018-2019: President Trump lowers refugee admissions to an all-time low.
Sept. 26, 2019: The Trump administration signs another refugee ban.
Nov. 21, 2019: HIAS challenges President Trump’s new order in court.
Jan. 15, 2020: A federal judge rules in HIAS’ favor, but the fight isn’t over.

In the face of the Trump administration’s relentless attempts to slam the door
on refugees, our work is far from done. That’s why HIAS will continue fighting
day in and day out to change law and policy, galvanize people to take action,
and support refugees and asylum seekers in every way we can.

This year, we’re reclaiming the anniversary of Trump’s first refugee ban. We’ve
set a goal to raise $75,000 by midnight on Sunday in support of refugees and
asylum seekers, but we won’t meet it without your help. Please, give
$18 now – or whatever you can – to help us fight back
against the Trump administration’s unlawful discrimination and let refugees
worldwide know that they have homes here in America.

Thank you so much for standing alongside us in this critical work,

Team HIAS
