🌹 This Saturday: Stand With Railroad Workers!🌹

Join Georgia Tech YDSA and ATLDSA outside Norfolk Southern HQ for a peaceful, student-led rally and teach-in Saturday, March 11th at 1 PM. We will be showing support for railroad workers and East Palestine residents harmed in the recent derailment of a Norfolk Southern train, and educating members of the community on the issue and what they can do to help!

Norfolk Southern should be ashamed of its responsibility in the Feb. 3rd train 32N derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, which led to the spilling of toxic chemicals, a fire, and evacuation of thousands of working class residents. This derailment was the result of decades of deregulation of the railroad industry and the prioritization of profits over the health and safety of workers and the general public. Atlanta residents are rising up to demand that Norfolk Southern clean up East Palestine, compensate residents harmed, and meet the demands of railroad workers fighting for improved safety standards on the job and a good contract!

Sign on to the petition and join us this Saturday to let Norfolk Southern know that Atlanta stands with East Palestine and railroad workers! Please only attend if you are vaccinated! 😷

🎸 Brewing Union Benefit Concert! 🎸

Brewing Union of Georgia benefit concert promotional image

Creature Comforts brewing workers in Athens are building their new union, the Brewing Union of Georgia, from the ground up! The company has hired an aggressive, expensive union-busting law firm and we need your help to protect workers and win the campaign!

ALL workers at Creature Comforts and beyond deserve a living wage, paid time off, a democratic voice at work, and transparent policies about hiring, promotion, discipline, and diversity.

So Join Us for a fundraising concert Saturday, March 18th 7 PM - 10PM at No Tomorrow in Underground Atlanta for a night of Music and Camaraderie! Tickets are $15 and Free For Brewery Workers proceeds will go to help pay for legal costs and the occasional organizing costs of what could be a prolonged campaign. RSVP for the show here.

If you are feeling extra generous please consider contributing what you can by donating below. BUG needs your help to win this David vs. Goliath battle!
