Hi John, We’ve officially entered Abortion Provider Appreciation Week, a poignant example of something beautiful that grew out of an act of hate. On March 10th,1993, abortion provider Dr. David Gunn was murdered by a white supremacist anti-abortion extremist entering his clinic in Pensacola, Florida. To honor his memory and the work of all abortion providers, March 10th became the National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers. Of course, abortion folks are extra AF and y’all know we expanded it into an entire Abortion Provider Appreciation Week! I mean, sure, we love providers every single day, but this entire week from March 6th to March 10th to rope the rest of y’all into the love fest? Sign us up! Our friends over at Abortion Care Network have put together a delectable menu of ways everyone can support independent abortion providers that is guaranteed to satisfy even the most voracious hunger to put some good out into the abortion world! We’re really feeling Maya Angelou’s quote this week, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” In this case, it’s a fake clinic fighting for the right to retaliate against employees for getting abortions or making other reproductive health decisions! Wait a got damn second- I thought fake clinics don’t judge and love everyone?! Are you telling us that’s been a lie the entire time… And just like lying is the main business of fake clinics, doing is ours! Hey Jane + Expose Fake Clinics are teaming up to train us on how to combat anti-abortion trickery! Open to anyone across the country who is pro-abortion access and looking to join Abortion Access Front and Hey Jane's Don't Get Fooled By Fake Clinics week of action, this will be a training on all the ways you can expose anti-abortion fake clinics both online and in person during the week of action (and beyond).
