I am proud to serve our district in Congress. Each day, I work to address your concerns and protect our liberties. From navigating federal casework to voicing a concern, my team and I are always here to help. For your convenience, my D.C. and each district office's contact information can be found in the closing of this newsletter. Please read below for some updates on my recent work representing you in Washington, D.C. and back home in TX-23. Participated in the House Homeland Security Committee Hearing This week, I delivered a line of questioning at the House Homeland Security Committee hearing to examine Secretary Mayorkas’ handling of the border crisis. I laid out how China is partnering with drug cartels to poison our children with fentanyl. We need to crack down on China and any other entity smuggling this deadly drug into our backyards. We must take cartels seriously, designate them as terrorist organizations and put an end to this crisis plaguing American communities. Helped Introduce the Parents Bill of Rights Act As a father of six, one of my top priorities is ensuring parents have an active role in shaping their child’s academic future. That’s why I am proud to have introduced the Parents Bill of Rights Act along with my colleagues to ensure families have undeniable legal protections when it comes to participating in their child’s education. In Congress, I will keep fighting to improve Texas schools by maximizing school safety, transparency, and parents' ability to stay at the forefront of any decision that involves their child. Met with U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers in Washington This week I was glad to host a delegation of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers from across TX-23 to discuss ways I can support their efforts at the border. From bolstering resources for equipment to improving pay and quality of life initiatives, I will continue advocating for the hardworking men and women at CBP as they work to secure our nation. Met With Leaders of the Just Keep Livin Foundation This week I met with students and teachers from Uvalde who visited my DC office with the Just Keep Livin Foundation. This program empowers high school students by providing them with the resources they need to lead healthy and active lives. I am thankful for the work this group does in shaping our future generations and look forward to supporting their mission through my work in Congress. My team and I are always available to assist you. Please feel free to contact my office at any time.
