According to CNN, Trump's lawyers have already made numerous false and misleading claims.
First, White House counsel Pat Cipollone claimed no Republican House members were allowed in the closed-door impeachment hearings to review confidential information.
"This is false," CNN reports. 48 Republicans members of the three committees holding the hearings were allowed to participate and given equal time to question witnesses.
Second, Cipollone lied about the time it took to transmit the articles of impeachment to the Senate.
Third, Cipollone said that "the President was denied the right to cross-examine witnesses, the President was denied the right to access evidence, and the President was denied the right to have counsel present at [the Judiciary Committee] hearings."
"This is false," CNN again reports. Rep. Nadler formally invited Trump to have a lawyer at the proceedings, and Cipollone turned down the offer.
