What a week, friend.

I wanted to make sure you saw Leader Konfrst’s note and give you a quick update on what’s happened since.

In the past few days, Iowa Republicans have taken an axe to the progress we’ve made for families like mine. Their latest bill to undermine marriage equality is a more extreme version of the same bill I testified against in 2011.

But even if their goal isn’t to pass a bill like this during this session, they’re setting the stage for an Iowa where the first promise of our constitution – that all of us are free and equal – doesn’t apply to everyone.

Iowa families come in all shapes and sizes, but they’re all bound by love and commitment to each other. And they deserve better than to be shamed, stigmatized, and sanctioned by Republican politicians.

Like Leader Konfrst said, 2024 is right around the corner, and we need your help to keep up the fight for Iowa families. Every dollar counts, friend – are you in? [[link removed]]

I’m glad you’re on our team, friend.

It’s Funnel Week here at the Iowa Capitol, friend, and Iowa Republicans are on a mission to do everything their MAGA base tells them to.

Every one of their terrible bills is all about politics, and it’s come from another state or a right-wing special interest group. It confirms that Republicans truly do not care about doing what’s best for all Iowans.

Iowa Democrats are putting people over politics to reduce the damage that Kim Reynolds’ voucher scheme will inflict on our communities, including investing in public schools so every kid gets a great education and helping parents find affordable child care.

We might not have the numbers right now to pass bold proposals that make life better for Iowans across the board, but 2024 is right around the corner. Can I count on you to chip in $15 right now to help us lay a strong foundation for victory in the next election? [[link removed]]

I know how easy it can be to lose hope, but there are still things we can do right now to set ourselves up for success in 2024. Every dollar counts, friend – are you in? [[link removed]]
