Two months into 2023, we’ve seen exactly what House Republican control in Washington looks like: chaos and extremism.
Kevin McCarthy and his MAGA Republican allies like Jim Jordan, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert have their agenda, but working for the American people isn’t on it. Instead, the Trump apostles are pandering to the most extreme elements of the GOP base, attacking women’s reproductive rights and LGBTQ+ Americans, while protecting assault weapons and election deniers.
A large block of Republicans are targeting Social Security and Medicaid for cuts, while almost every Republicans wants to gut programs to combat climate change, slash the safety net for vulnerable families, and default on America’s national debt. It is outrageous!
House Democrats are holding the line, but make no mistake: The 2024 election cycle will decide the future of our country and our democracy.
Taking back the U.S. House means putting committee gavels back in the hands of Democrats again. As Minnesota’s only member on the appropriations committee, I want the gavel back! I want to invest in America’s future and make our families stronger. Taking back the House means getting back to responsible governing and keeping our families, communities, and country strong, safe and successful.
