Dear John,

I want to let you know about a new opportunity to urge Texas policymakers to address the state's child care needs and to pursue federal funding for home visiting, substance use or mental health services for parents, services that support early brain development, and more.

Texas early childhood advocates have an opportunity to pursue these goals as state leaders develop plans in the coming weeks and months to implement the federal Family First Act.

Texans Care for Children just published a new guide to help you navigate this opportunity:

How TX Early Childhood Advocates Can Leverage the Family First Act ([link removed])

Your first formal chance to speak up is just a few days away.

On January 30th, the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) will hold a public hearing ([link removed]) to listen to public comments on implementation of the Family First Act.

We appreciate your partnership on this critical early childhood issue!

Sincerely,

David FeigenEarly Childhood Policy Associate
