Tell Congress:
The people should pick the politicians―not the other way around. Ban partisan gerrymandering!

John,
It’s time for we, the people, to stand up and say NO to gerrymandering!
The whole point of democracy is for the people to pick their representatives, but too often, the process works backwards. And with big, dark money further corrupting our democracy, we need a transparent redistricting process that puts people first.
Otherwise, we end up with elected officials in Congress and in state legislatures who refuse to accept election results―and those same politicians end up holding the debt ceiling hostage and demanding Social Security cuts.
In state after state, Republican mapmakers have put their party fortunes ahead of our democracy. Nowhere is this clearer than in Wisconsin, where a Republican-controlled state Supreme Court has blessed a map that gives a supermajority in Congress to a party that got less than 50% of the vote.
Together, we’re demanding politicians in back rooms who are working to undermine our democracy, instead make our democracy work for the people!
Thanks,
Michael Phelan Social Security Works
