Learn more about what my office has been up to this week Dear john, Before Congress returns to Washington next week, I want to share some updates from the latest District Work Period and thank all who engaged with my office during the last two weeks. It is a privilege for me to work in partnership with our state and local government officials, and I was glad to spend time with leaders in our community during this time. On Tuesday, I started my morning at Mosaic Georgia and Rainbow Village in Duluth. Mosaic Georgia provides support and critical services to survivors of sexual assault in Gwinnett County and the greater Atlanta area. Rainbow Village offers safe, affordable housing to families experiencing homelessness. I am so proud of the work being done by Mosaic Georgia and Rainbow Village, and I look forward to watching their continued success in providing support for our community. Pictured above: Rep. McBath and leadership from Mosaic Georgia Later that afternoon, I joined Assistant Democratic Leader James Clyburn and Protect Our Care for a virtual press call to discuss insulin costs. I am so proud President Biden signed my bill to cap insulin costs at $35 a month for seniors on Medicare, and I will continue to lead the fight to reduce the costs of medicine and health insurance for every single American. If you'd like to view a recording of our call, please click here. Pictured above: Rep. McBath participates in a call with Protect Our Care and Rep. James Clyburn Throughout the week, I continued my series of meetings with the mayors and leadership of the cities in our district. This week, I was honored to meet with the cities of Berkeley Lake, Grayson, Suwanee, Snellville, and Johns Creek. This district is privileged to have so many dedicated public servants who are working hard to create growth and bring opportunity to the residents we serve. On Wednesday morning, I started my day at our state capitol meeting with the representatives and senators who serve our community in the state legislature. As this year's legislative session continues, I am grateful for the men and women who are working hard for us in the state government. Pictured above from left to right: Rep. Becky Evans, Sen. Nabilah Islam, Rep. Michelle Au, Congresswoman McBath, Rep. Ruwa Romman, Rep. Shelly Hutchinson On Thursday afternoon, I joined Johns Creek Mayor John Bradberry for a ribbon cutting at a new Village Medical clinic in Johns Creek. Georgia ranks near the bottom among the 50 states when it comes to primary care access, and clinics such as the one we toured on Thursday go a long way to expanding access to preventive care, which ultimately reduces healthcare costs, lowers hospital readmission rates, and improves chronic disease management. I look forward to continuing to champion solutions that will open and expand access to primary care for all who need it. Pictured above: Rep.
