Since we launched this campaign, I’ve traveled from Asheville to Salisbury, from Sanford to Greensboro talking with North Carolinians about our vision for a brighter future.

I know that this campaign is going to be long, but conversations like these are already keeping me going. But, we need to fund this campaign so I can keep making road trips across the state and meeting with voters.

It’s normal for campaigns to see a drop in their fundraising numbers after the first month. That's exactly where we are right now. But the end of our second month of campaigning is just days away, and we have a budget gap to close.

My finance director tells me we need to make up a $15,000 deficit before the month ends — all through online donations from emails like this one.

Asking for money is never easy, and it’s certainly not how I want to spend my time when there’s so much work to do, but it’s essential. We can’t secure a victory — and protect North Carolina from an extremist right-wing political agenda — if we don’t have the resources to compete.
