Virginia is at a crossroads. What we do at this moment will determine our path for decades to come.

That’s why I’m launching Defend Democracy PAC, an 100% state-level PAC that’s dedicated solely to electing Democrats across the Commonwealth.

I decided to start this PAC now because Republicans in Richmond have violated our trust.

They’ve fallen for dangerous election conspiracies, attacked abortion rights, enabled gun violence in our communities, ignored the climate crisis, and scapegoated ordinary families.

Folks across our state worry that we’ve lost our way – and in some ways, I think that’s true. Fear-mongering, vitriol, and dishonesty run counter to our most deeply held values.

But as a Virginian, a former member of Congress, a veteran, and a mom, I have a duty to try and turn things around. And I know so many wonderful, dedicated Democratic leaders who are very much up to the challenge, too.

Now is the time to build a roster of talented Democratic candidates who believe in a better future for the Commonwealth, from our local School Boards all the way to the State Senate.
