Jeff speaking to a crowd.

Friends,

The response to our last email about China and Taiwan was huge - hundreds of you replied with your thoughts, and I read them all. We’ve got a lot of smart, thoughtful readers, and I enjoy hearing from you. I replied personally to as many of you as possible.

I have to say, this feels like the right way to do the job. I stay focused on the work, report back to you, read your feedback, and then get back to work. Many of you have told me you appreciate this approach, so I’d like to keep it up.

It shouldn’t surprise you to hear that I’ve done zero fundraising emails since the election. My total focus has been on the job, as it should be.

I think it can stay that way, with your help.

I’m sure you know that for many members of Congress - especially new ones - it’s not uncommon for a huge percentage of their weekly schedule to be consumed by fundraising.

The recommendation I’ve gotten is to spend several hours each day on the phone.

But, because our emails have become widely read, we have the potential to take a different approach.

Here’s what I’m proposing:

To stay on track with fundraising, I have to raise a certain amount each month.

I think we could hit that amount with this single email, if the response is strong enough.

If we do, it gives me several more weeks of 100% focus where it needs to be - as you’ll see for yourself as I continue to keep you posted.

For this to work, it’s going to require more participation from more people than we’ve had in the past - so if you’ve never given before, I’d ask you to kindly consider it by giving today here.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Thank you - and here’s to doing this job the way you want it done.

Best,
Jeff
