Friend,

Today, Donald Trump is traveling East Palestine, Ohio in the wake of the horrific Norfolk Southern Railway Accident.

Of course, the first thing Trump is going to have to explain to the town is why he spent four years dismantling the very railroad protections that could have prevented the incident in the first place.

Yes, during his presidency, Donald Trump reversed an Obama regulation that was designed to prevent this very type of accident.

The visit is callous and cruel. A political grandstand at the expense of the people who are suffering from the tragedy.

But it's also an attempt to mask his clear failings as President of the United States. A distraction from the fact that time and time again, Trump cowed to lobbying pressures and undid regulations aimed at protecting the health and safety of Americans.

Trump undermined our democracy.

He wrecked our economy.

And he prioritized private interest over public health.

And he’s going to spend this entire campaign distracting from that very fact. We can’t let him.

The truth is important. And we can’t let Trump’s cruel political grandstanding win.
