[1]Alex Padilla for Senate

Friends,

All the time, people ask me if becoming a U.S. Senator is a dream come true.

And honestly, my answer is no.

When I was growing up, I never dreamt that anything like this was possible.

But now that I’m here, I promise that I will not take a single day for granted.

I promise to keep fighting to make that dream possible for future generations.

Because the American Dream has never been about passive participation. It’s made possible by those who work for it and by those willing to defend and expand it.

It’s because of the people who came before me that the first-generation son of a short order cook from Jalisco and a housekeeper from Chihuahua is now serving in the United States Senate.

And it’s because of those who will come after me that I will never stop fighting to make the American Dream accessible for everyone.

I’m one of the few U.S. Senators who still has young children at home. So when we talk about the future of this country — and frankly, when it comes to climate change, the future of our planet — it’s not in the abstract. I’m thinking of my kids and their generation.

But here is the truth:

I cannot do it alone. Nobody can.

We’re facing a Republican Party — with a majority in the House — that wants to cut Social Security and Medicare, pass voter suppression laws across the country, and puts gun lobby profits over the safety of our children and communities.

And the ONLY way we’re going to be able to take them on and make the American Dream a reality for all of us if we do it together.

So please, consider making a $5, $10, $20 contribution to my campaign today so I can keep fighting to make the American Dream a reality for ALL of us.
