And that’s exactly what we did when the $110 million “Comcast RISE” program refused to help four small business owners simply because of the color of their skin. WILL took Comcast to court in April 2022 and Comcast backed down. Facing important court deadlines, Comcast abandoned their program, then entered into a confidential settlement agreement with four small businesses from Indiana, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Massachusetts. Christopher Moses, one of WILL’s clients who owns a small cleaning company in Indianapolis, told his story to the Wall Street Journal. WILL Client, Christopher Moses Our lawsuit sought to enforce a federal law (passed in 1866) and as a result, WILL secured another win for equality under the law. This doesn’t happen overnight and could not have been done without the strong litigators and legal advice from our organization. And we are just getting started. Support WILL Today If you want to join our cause, here’s how you can help… sign up for updates today, and make a generous gift to our organization. Your generous help will allow us to continue taking on these tough fights. We don’t charge our clients. And we don’t take money from the settlements like the one we just received. We are an organization solely dedicated to defending freedom and the rule of law—for everyone! Donate Online Here The lawsuit is part of WILL’s Equality Under the Law Project. Since 2021, this project has represented 43 clients from 17 states. More information about this project can be found at DefendEquality.org. The work we do would not be possible without the generosity of our donors; we are a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization that receives no public funds. As a non-profit and non-partisan organization, we litigate in the areas of equality under the law, property rights, the freedom to earn a living, voting rights, regulation, taxation, school choice, and religious freedom. As an educational organization, we strive to advance the debate concerning law and public policy in these and other areas. ‌ ‌ ‌ Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty | 330 East Kilbourn Avenue, Suite 725, Milwaukee, WI 53202 Unsubscribe [email protected] Update Profile | Constant Contact Data Notice Sent by [email protected] powered by Try email marketing for free today!
