Sodexo workers at William & Mary win 1st contract

"JUST RATIFIED: a first contract for Sodexo workers at William & Mary!" tweeted UNITE HERE Local 23. "Workers will have: minimum $3/hr raises by Sept 2023, union health insurance, pension, job protection and lots more! Congratulations to everyone who fought for this victory!"

Biden talks up labor and jobs at local union hall

"Honored to have the @POTUS at #IBEW Local 26 in Maryland to talk about how union workers are building our economy back better," tweeted IBEW last Wednesday. "When @POTUS comes to town to talk about creating jobs, strengthening the labor movement, and building an economy from the working class out -- Local 689 is there to listen," added ATU 689.

MD higher ed workers support voice on the job

"Last week, AFSCME members Renee Nadreau, Geron Mackall, and Christal Cooper came down to Annapolis to voice their support for SB 298/HB183," tweeted AFSCME Maryland. "This legislation would give state and higher education supervisors and managers a voice at the bargaining table!" #AFSCMEinAnnapolis

Caseworkers tell MD lawmakers about violence at work

"AFSCME Local 112 members testified at the DHS Budget Hearing today," AFSCME MD tweeted yesterday. "Tami Morningstar, a caseworker at the Baltimore County DSS, shared her personal experience being attacked at work and called for a comprehensive workplace violence prevention program and better safety measures."

Baltimore mayor supports Walters Art Museum workers

"Fair pay, Fair benefits, and Safe work environments," tweeted Baltimore mayor Brandon Scott last week. "SB 284 is about ensuring that ALL @waltersunited employees have a seat at the table and a voice in basic rights. Let's make sure that we don't leave anyone behind in the fight to pass collective bargaining legislation."
