I can't believe we have secession advocates in Congress

The absurdity continues in the House. What is going on? Wake up, America.

Help us stand against extremism and treasonous rhetoric brewing in rural America with a generous contribution to my rural fund.

Every morning, my team and I exchange topics of interest we should address that align with our goal to advance Democratic principles in rural America. I couldn't believe I would be Tweeting at Marjorie Taylor Greene, telling her our District would not tolerate secession. Secession! She said, "We need a national divorce. We need to separate by red states and blue states." It wasn't a gaffe. She doubled down on it repeatedly. Usually, we're all better off ignoring Ms. Greene's outlandish comments, but I did some research. Far too many Americans support 'regional unions.' It's a minority, but look where it's growing - in rural America, where underrepresented citizens are susceptible to lies and misinformation from radicals like Majorie Taylor Greene. I had to quip back. This needs to stop! Immediately. The people of MI01 will not tolerate secession advocates in our House. It's unconstitutional, unpatriotic, and un-American. We will respect each other, and we will work together. Congresspeople are elected to problem-solve for all Americans, not just for those with whom we agree. Ms. Greene's comments are dangerous, divisive, and nearly treasonous. The only secession I support is Ms. Taylor Green's dangerous rhetoric seceding out of Congress. Legislatively, Greene and our current representative vote together 80% of the time. That's frightening. - Please join me in recultivating a better approach to politics. I hope to spark an exemplary movement in rural Michigan, a philosophy based on cooperation, collaboration, and compromise that I know can take seed here; because of the nature of the constituency. That's where my faith is; in our people. It's why I've dedicated my entire life to public service and running for US Congress. I'm not naive about the challenges ahead of us. Our country is more divided than we've been since 1860s, but when I consider the state of our District, I think about the fiercely independent nature of the people we serve. In Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, we serve the most resilient and congenial people in America. Will you stand with me today with a contribution of $5 or more to help us accomplish great things together? Not separate. Together. Thank you for your consideration. -Dr. Bob Lorinser Candidate for US Congress, (D, MI01) [email protected]
