Blatant political pandering.

Roy Cooper for North Carolina

John —

LGBTQ+ students, families, and public school teachers are under attack.

North Carolina’s GOP legislators just announced plans to pass their very own version of Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill — a law that has silenced teachers from having age-appropriate conversations with their students and ostracizes LGBTQ+ students and families. It’s blatant political pandering, and it’s just plain wrong.

Right now, GOP legislators are just ONE SEAT away from veto-proof supermajorities in both state legislative chambers. Even with the threat of Roy’s veto, they’re already attempting to enact ultra-radical laws.

If the GOP gains just one seat, there’ll be no stopping them. Republicans could push through any radical, anti-democratic legislation they want. NC Democrats need YOUR support to fight back. Click here to donate >>>

Look, public school teachers and administrators are the ones who should be determining what and how they teach. They’re the experts.

Instead, Republican legislators want to exercise complete control over our public schools because they know it plays well to their base.

John, laws like these aren’t designed to protect kids. They’re a capitulation to radical right-wingers who hold extreme views and want to silence anyone they disagree with.

We can’t let bigoted, anti-LGBTQ+ extremists dictate how our teachers teach or prevent students from expressing themselves in school. We HAVE to elect leaders we can count on to defend our rights and treat all North Carolinians with dignity. Click here to chip in what you can to help.
