Friend,

Today, we celebrate President's Day, just a few days removed from the birthday of our namesake, Abraham Lincoln.

In the last twelve months, we've been reminded why we're in this fight for democracy.

A year ago, Russian troops were massing at Ukraine's border, preparing to invade. And despite a brutal invasion, Ukraine has held strong.

President Biden is showing us why so many of us worked so hard to elect him. He held the Western world together in the face of authoritarian aggression. Rebuilt our alliances. And a year later, democracy is standing strong against Putin -- with no better reminder than President Biden joining President Zelenskyy in Kyiv today as a brave show of support for the fight for democracy. A war that some predicted would be over in days has turned into a quagmire for Putin, with Ukraine reclaiming lost territory and defeating the Russian will to fight.

Every day Ukraine stands tall is a victory for democracy. But the fight for democracy continues unabated on our shores, too.

At home, President Biden is governing and leading. The major investments the Biden administration has made in America are paying off. Job creation is at an all-time high. Unemployment is at its lowest point in several decades.

All of this is creating the defining contrast we see for 2024: Calm, capable leadership vs. unhinged chaos. Democracy vs. ultra-MAGA authoritarianism.

And just over the last few weeks, the 2024 landscape is beginning to take shape. The volume of incoming fire we've taken has increased dramatically.

Trump remembered why he’s not President and fired up his phone.

We called out 18 Republicans who are complicit in the MAGA attempts to hold our county hostage over the debt ceiling, demanding they put country over party -- and the DC establishment bit back hard. Other organizations -- many of whom have never spent a dime of donor money supporting pro-democracy candidates directly -- have decided the best way to fundraise in an off-year is to come after us. And now talk of a third-party campaign threatens to hand Trump the presidency.

Rather than getting into a war of words, we’re taking this as a reminder of why we’re in this fight. The same interests who threaten to drag other groups off-course hold no sway with us.

That’s why we've been so effective with your support, winning 17 races critical to the survival of democracy last year. We're beholden to no candidate or establishment organization. Our only cause is the cause of democracy. Our focus is singular.

It's why we'll continue to target the most crucial races going into next year, why we're working harder than ever to build the largest pro-democracy coalition in history with The Union. And why us living rent-free in Trump's head continues to pay dividends.

Over the next few weeks, you'll hear from the voices behind The Lincoln Project, discussing our motivations, our goals, and why we picked now to redefine the battlefield.

Finally, we'll say this: We wouldn't be in this fight without you. You and the millions of fellow supporters of The Lincoln Project and the pro-democracy coalition are the reason for our combined success.

That, more than anything, is what keeps us in the fight.

-The entire Lincoln Project team

Republicans are letting MTG call the shots, have a complete fraud among them and look the other way, and are threatening to nuke the entire economy all while they build up to the 2024 second-coming of their golden boy, Donald Trump. This cycle has already begun and we’re asking our supporters to commit to a monthly contribution to help us make sure he never ever makes it back to the White House. Will you commit to our fight for 2024? Even a small donation every month makes a huge difference in what we can do.
