friend,

10 years ago today, the United States Supreme Court rendered an opinion that ushered in a new era of secretly funded political campaigning — an era that has been deeply harmful to our country.

The Citizens United decision ruled that corporations — like people — are entitled to First Amendment rights, and added the “right” of corporations to make unlimited expenditures to influence the outcomes of elections. Since then, election spending records have been broken in every succeeding year.

I reject that holding. I back up my belief by refusing to accept corporate PAC donations on my campaign. As your next senator, I will support federal legislation that eliminates the negative impact of Citizens United and ensures that our elections are determined by the democratic principle of one person, one vote — not expenditures in the hundreds of millions of dollars from corporate interests.

My opponent has accepted $2,372,073 in PAC money this election cycle , and that number will grow. Super PACs working on behalf of Donald Trump and corporate interests are prepared to spend millions on this election, calling Georgia a “tier one” state.

I need you to help take on the corporate agenda with a surge of grassroots fundraising to win this race. Make a donation today on the 10th anniversary of the Citizens United decision. It’s going to take gumption, but when we take back the Senate, we WILL reform our campaign finance system to serve us all. [[link removed]]
