My name is Steve Hopkins and I am running for Mississippi State Senate to continue our fight for individual liberty and economic prosperity in Jackson.

I was born and raised in Southaven, went on to pursue higher education at Northwest Mississippi Community College and Ole Miss, married my beautiful wife Beckie, and have three children and two wonderful grandsons.

I was elected as Representative of District 7 in 2016 and have since been nationally recognized for my conservative voting record:

During my two terms as a State Representative, I have singlehandedly stopped the proposed increase in the gas tax on more than one occasion. This issue is important to me because it's an unfair burden on working families and small businesses that rely on transportation for their
livelihoods.

By opposing the gas tax increase and fighting to abolish the state’s income tax, I am working to create a fairer economy in Mississippi and ensure that hard-working Mississippians can benefit from lower taxes.

I am running to bring the same principles of conservative excellence to the Mississippi Senate, including abolishing the income tax to combat inflation, supporting educational freedom by expanding parental rights, securing our elections once and for all, and defending our Constitutionally protected, God-given rights.
