Friends —

We like to be transparent about our fundraising, so here’s the truth: February is historically a pretty slow fundraising month for a campaign like ours.

Maybe it’s the Super Bowl. Maybe it’s the cold weather. Maybe it’s just because it’s a shorter month. Whatever the reason, it means that we may need to brace for less contributions this month — which translates to less resources for our movement to fight with.

Despite this truth, we still set an ambitious fundraising goal for the month of February. Both because we’ve been feeling the energy of this movement more than ever after beating our goal last month, and because we need to prepare for the important fights on the horizon. But so far, we're already halfway through the month of February and we’re not nearly as close to our goal as we should be.

That’s why we wanted to share this with you, team. We’re trying to beat the old expectations because we can’t afford a 'slow month.' Even a small contribution of $5 helps us make up for lost time this month. So please,

Can you make your first $3 contribution to our campaign so we can stay on track to beat our goal and make February as important a fundraising month as any other? [[link removed]]
