Neighbors,

Today we commemorate the life and legacy of an American hero and civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. People across the District and the country will step up to lend a hand or attend an event in remembrance. Earlier today, I joined with residents from across the District marching in the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade.

I was proud to meet Martin Luther King, III, and lead a Ward 5 delegation that included students from Catholic University, Dunbar High School, and Brookland Middle School, as well as members of the Ward 5 Cure Violence team and Ward 5 residents.

Thank you to those who were able to join us today and those who marked the day in another way.

In service,

Kenyan
