# [#]Team,

We hope you saw Joaquin's latest message.

House GOP are demanding support for their xenophobic immigration bill in exchange for raising the debt limit.

Will you sign your name and oppose this latest attempt to push through bad legislation? [[link removed]]

Begin forwarded message:

Extreme Republicans have threatened to crash our economy by refusing to let the government pay our bills unless we agree to painful cuts to critical social safety net programs like Medicare and Social Security.

But those aren't the only threats they made about the debt ceiling. Republican Congressman Chip Roy is now threatening to cause a debt ceiling disaster unless Democrats agree to push his xenophobic border plan through the House.

Here's the bottom line: we can't be bullied into hateful policies that punish migrants. Please stand with me and add your name to push back against their discriminatory bill today. [[link removed]]

Some extreme Republicans have long since pushed dehumanizing and dangerous rhetoric about immigrants and are using the debt ceiling as a prop to force such a harmful bill.

The legislation will even go as far as denying migrants asylum, a foundational principle in our country's humanitarian aid efforts.

We cannot allow the House GOP to hold our economy hostage and punish individuals seeking legal entry to the United States to better their lives.

Click here to sign your name and to stand up and say that we won't allow people to use our nation's economy as leverage for this harmful bill. [[link removed]]

Thank you for standing with me,
