That’s what President Biden exclaimed during his State of the Union address before Congress and the nation.

“Let’s finish the job and ban assault weapons now.”

That’s what President Biden exclaimed during his State of the Union address before Congress and the nation. In his remarks, Biden highlighted his administration’s accomplishments and laid out his legislative agenda for the future, including an assault weapons ban and community violence intervention funding.

While The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act we fought for and won last year was a massive milestone for our movement, the number of gun-related deaths continues to climb. With more mass shootings occurring than days this year, it’s clear that Congress must act to get weapons of war out of our communities to save lives.

Over the next two years, we are urging Biden to leverage the power of the presidency to address gun violence through executive action.

Congress is running out of time to deliver on Biden’s call for an assault weapons ban. If you agree, chip in toward our organizing efforts to end gun violence:

Thank you for fueling our work to save lives. Let’s finish the job.
