Senate confirms Alice Roberts-Davis as Commissioner of Administration

Saint Paul?? The Minnesota Senate today confirmed the appointment of Alice Roberts-Davis as Commissioner of the Department of Administration (Admin). Roberts-Davis has led the agency as Commissioner since Governor Walz appointed her in January 2019.

?As a dedicated public servant who shares our commitment to ensuring state government is equitable, inclusive, and responsive for all Minnesotans, Alice is the right leader for the Minnesota Department of Administration,? said Governor Walz.

?As the Commissioner of the Department of Administration, Alice Roberts-Davis has taken meaningful action to make state government more equitable,? said Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan. ?With her strong commitment to One Minnesota, I?m excited to continue working with Alice to push our state to be more innovative, efficient, and inclusive for all Minnesotans.?

?I am grateful for today?s support from the Minnesota Senate and the opportunity from Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan to continue serving at the Department of Administration,? said Commissioner Roberts-Davis. ?The next four years bring new opportunities and challenges that the department is well-positioned to help address in meeting the needs and expectations of all Minnesotans.?

Before joining the state of Minnesota, Roberts-Davis was an executive at Target Corporation leading real estate development and management as well as leading the company?s $1 billion supplier diversity initiative. Roberts-Davis began her public service as an assistant commissioner overseeing the state?s real estate, construction, and procurement divisions. In that role, Roberts-Davis was responsible for $2.5 billion in annual procurement, as well as the Office of Equity in Procurement (OEP) and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC).

Roberts-Davis is from Elk Grove Village, Illinois. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she earned a degree in Communications and Journalism and went on to Florida State University College of Law earning a Juris Doctor degree.

The Department of Administration oversees and manages the administrative functions of executive branch state agencies, boards, and councils, including purchasing and contracting, facilities management, real estate and construction, and more.
