Back in December, we launched our candidate recruitment to search for the next teachers, nurses, bartenders, and community organizers who will become Justice Democrats and join the Squad in Congress.

As we’ve dug into the data, our target districts and incumbents are becoming more clear. We’re zeroing in on the representatives who are out of touch with their constituents and out of time to do better.

We’re working round the clock to identify diverse, working class leaders who are already fighting for their communities — so they can join our slate of candidates and take on the political establishment.

Here’s what’s shocking: the overwhelming majority of Democratic incumbents still take corporate money. And many oppose Medicare for All and a Green New Deal — policies that are not only necessary to address the crises we’re facing, but popular.

If we want to move the Democratic Party forward, we have to start by supporting primary challenges to complacent, corporate-backed incumbents who are stalling progress — even if it means upsetting the political establishment.

So here’s our next challenge: Finding the right candidates. We’re looking to recruit working class, progressive leaders who will fight for their communities in Congress — people like Summer Lee, Cori Bush, or AOC.

Our candidates are our superpower. Even when party leadership blacklists us, incumbents smear us, and far-right organizations like AIPAC spend millions against us, we win because our candidates truly represent the people — and it shows.

We’ve already begun conversations with some potential candidates in our target districts, but this process takes a lot of time, work, and resources to get right. That’s why your help at this turning point is critical for our success.
