Hey John --

It’s been a big few weeks in politics with a new Labour leader, a new Cabinet, an election date and movement in the polls.

In a second I'm going to ask you to chip in to help get our new leader's message to voters <[link removed]>but first I wanted to give you a bit of an update. I’ve been asked “what does this all mean for our campaign?” countless times over the last few weeks and I'm conscious that you're probably wondering that too, John.

Well first off, it could have been a big blow. Changing leaders can be a very difficult time for a party - we all remember how National tore themselves apart in 2020 (and as one or two other parties may have done over the years!).

But I was so proud of the way our Caucus came together with such a swift and unified transition. And I've been even prouder of the way Chris Hipkins has stepped into the role of Prime Minister. He's quickly stamped his own mark on the government - laser focused on the bread and butter issues, tackling the cost of living crisis and making sure Kiwis who work hard can get ahead.

And the public is responding - the polls show huge numbers of New Zealanders trust Chris Hipkins over Christopher Luxon. It’s game on.

Now it’s on us to work our guts out to make sure people up and down the country hear about our message and our plan.

Our opponents have a small number of very rich people behind them, ensuring that they can spend big on advertising. To compete, we need a large number of grassroots donors, from all walks of life, chipping in what they can.

John, with 249 days to go until election day, will you chip in to help get our new leader's message to voters? Will you chip in for Chippy? <[link removed]>

CHIP IN FOR CHIPPY <[link removed]>Thanks,

Hayden Munro, Campaign Manager

P.S. At the end of last year I promised to share our campaign plan with you. Well, fair to say it has needed a wee tweak or two over the last fortnight 😅 - but I'm happy to report that I’ll be sending it out shortly so keep your eyes peeled!
