Friend,

Did you know that last year, Americans received more than 50 billion robocalls, including more than 2 billion here in North Carolina?

Robocalls aren’t just an annoying, everyday nuisance — they pose a serious threat to consumers, especially our older loved ones and neighbors.

That’s why I’m not waiting to act on this. Earlier this week, I introduced bipartisan legislation to stop these predatory practices. I hope you’ll join me in supporting the DO NOT Call Act, which will create stricter penalties for those harassing consumers: [[link removed]]

Robocalls target the most vulnerable among us — as companies and bad actors use aggressive, manipulative tactics to gain folks’ personal information and hard-earned money. It’s unacceptable, and it needs to end.

Thank you for standing with me on this issue, as we work to protect consumers here in Wake County and across the country — and hold accountable those who are only looking to do harm.

— Deborah
