205 GOP members of Congress submitted a letter to the Supreme Court asking them to undo Roe v. Wade and destroy bodily autonomy and the right to choose. In March, the Court will be hearing the Louisiana abortion case that this amicus curiae brief references -- meaning they could overturn Roe v. Wade and end legal abortion in the U.S. before the 2020 election.
The Supreme Court, with Trump’s hand-picked, anti-choice justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh in the lead, has already been taking steps toward dismantling these rights, rejecting a challenge to a Kentucky law requiring doctors to perform ultrasounds and play a fetal heartbeat to those seeking abortions.
