Winter Operational Update-Monday night

Denton County Transportation Authority

Connect Bus, UNT Shuttle, A-train, GoZone, Regional Bus, Access

Tonight, Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) says that its GoZone on-demand rideshare operations have stopped for the night due to deteriorating road conditions in Denton County.

Amid freezing precipitation accumulations in North Texas, some DCTA transportation services will see a delayed start on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. DCTA will continue to monitor travel conditions and make service adjustments as necessary, but as of Monday night, here is a rundown of expected DCTA service operations for Tuesday:

* Connect Bus operations in Denton will have a delayed start at 10:00 AM
* GoZone on-demand rideshare service will have a 10:00 AM delayed start
* UNT Campus Shuttle bus service will not operate on Tuesday, as a result of the University of North Texas canceling classes for the day
* A-train commuter rail service will operate its normal schedule starting at 5:00 AM
* Access paratransit services will operate on a normal schedule, but given the road conditions, customers should prepare for longer than normal travel times
* North Texas Xpress bus service from Denton to Alliance Fort Worth will not operate on Tuesday

Earlier on Monday, DCTA Connect Bus services ran a mostly normal schedule with Route 3 ending its run several hours early, while the A-train service continued through its normal operating time. DCTA buses operated for some of the day with tire chains installed for traction, and will do so again on Tuesday.

All riders should anticipate potential delays throughout the multiple-day winter weather event and dress appropriately. DCTA is also advising customers and employees to take precautions while walking to bus stops and shelters, in parking lots and on A-train platforms.

Future updates regarding service delays or interruptions will be published on the DCTA news site,?*RideDCTA.net/MediaCenter* [ [link removed] ]?and through?*DCTA Rider Alert notifications* [ [link removed] ], as well as our?*Facebook (RideDCTA)* [ [link removed] ]?and?*Twitter (@RideDCTA)* [ [link removed] ]?pages.
