Sincerely/Atentamente, Maria Elvira Salazar U.S. Representative (FL-27) I INTRODUCED A RESOLUTION WITH MAJORITY LEADER STEVE SCALISE DENOUNCING THE FAILURES OF SOCIALISM! This week, I presented a resolution denouncing the horrors and failures of the socialist ideology with House Majority Leader Steve Scalise. The resolution has already gained the support of more than 70 legislators! If adopted, House Concurrent Resolution 9 would guarantee the American people that socialism in any of its forms will never infect our free society and destroy our democratic institutions. STANDING UP FOR FREEDOM OF SPEECH I signed on to a letter introduced by Congressman Wesley Hunt (R-TX) demanding answers from executives at AT&T, the parent company of DirecTV, as to why the Newsmax network was taken off the air. Protecting the First Amendment is critical to the preservation of American democracy, and any attempt to censor voices from the air represents yet another assault on freedom of speech.
