Dear Friends,

I represent tens of thousands of Minnesota constituents who depend on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid for their livelihood, healthcare, and quality of life.

These programs allow seniors, people living with disabilities, children, and low-income families the economic and healthcare security needed to live with dignity.

The new House Republican majority doesn’t care.

The Washington Post reports this week:

“House Republicans have started weighing a series of legislative proposals targeting Social Security, Medicare, and other entitlement programs, part of a broader campaign to slash federal spending…” - Washington Post: 01/24/23

Republicans want to raise the Social Security age to 70 years old. They are going to try again to privatize Social Security.

Cutting taxes for the wealthiest and slashing Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid is the Republican playbook.

You know where I stand. I will always defend my constituents.

I will NEVER cut Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid. But I will work to strengthen them for today’s beneficiaries and the next generation.

This 2024 election cycle is about America’s future – and it is a real fight.

Your contribution puts me in the position to keep fighting against the extremism of Kevin McCarthy, the chaos of Marjorie Taylor Greene, and the lies of George Santos. We need to stop them!

Thank you! If we stand together, we will win, Democrats can take back the House and defend retirement security for all Americans!

Sincerely,

Rep. Betty McCollum
Member of Congress
